[dogs]

Yeah, I had a nice meeting with one today.

I was walking to the local bus stop to go to the gym when suddenly something tackled me from behind.
At first I thought for whatever reason that it might have been one of my friends, who wanted to surprise me. I do not have black, furry friends though, so: no.

It was a dog, rather big, black, quite beautiful one actually.
I had no idea where it came from, there was no potential owner anywhere in sight, I assume it ran away from a garden or through the open door of a flat in the neighborhood.
Anyways, it kept jumping on me, from all sides and snapped after my sleeves, backpack and jacket.
It took me a few moments to sort out whether it actually tried to attack me or just wanted to play. I came to the conclusion that it actually was not aggressive at all. It was not barking or anything, just waving its tail and probably thought I was an awesome friend to play with.

Don’t get me wrong, I really like dogs, even though I am a cat person after all, but I don’t really feel like playing when it approaches me in that kind of way.
As I have lived with a quite playful Finnish dog for a year (even though I highly doubt that Chili would ever randomly jump on strangers on the street!) I tried all kinds of Finnish dog commands that came to my mind. “NO!” “Stop.” “Sit!” “Don’t jump!” “Bad dog!” – It could not care less.

Finally a little girl came, maybe 8, and pulled the dog away on its collar.
The father of the girl came right after her, took her, dog and left to one of the houses.
No apology whatsoever!
I am quite tolerant, I know things like that can happen (even though they really, really shouldn’t!), but the least one can do when their dog jumps on a stranger is to say they are sorry!

Just imagining it would not have been me walking there, but a small child! The dog would have easily pushed it to the ground or even on the street.
Also if there would have been an old lady walking or someone who is really scared of dogs, as I was myself some years back. They would have gotten a heart attack, especially cause it really wasn’t obvious in the beginning what the dog was up to. For some seconds I was just waiting for it to bite.

It just makes me sad and angry at the same time, because it is like with children: if they are too wild, aggressive, don’t listen, don’t have respect it is never their fault, but always their parents or in that case owners!
Surely to some extend it is also the character, but even wild and playful dogs can be trained in the way that they do not immediately jump on people who walk past. I did not run or anything that could have signalized the dog I want to play.

Sometimes I think people should have to go through a test before they are allowed to have an animal or get children, just to make sure that they are able to take the responsibility!

Many dog holders will say “Don’t be like that, it just wants to play!” or something. Well, fair enough, but please take into consideration that some people might not like your little Bello, no matter how cute he seems to you.
Personally I have no problems with dogs walking free, also in domestic areas. As long as they are calm and listen to their owner! It happened a few times that some dog came to me and sniffed to check out who I am. That’s totally fine for me, but even that might be too much for other people.

I just don’t get why people get dogs without being able to handle them at all.
Think about it beforehand! Your daughters big blue eyes shouldn’t be the only reason to get one.

Well, I have a jeans and a shirt more to wash now, because they are pretty dirty of course.

Oh, well… no can do. :D

Now it would like to share some music for a change…
I heard this song already a while ago, but didn’t really pay attention.
Today at the gym the song played on TV while I was on the treadmill and I was somewhere between crying and falling off that thing…
It is really the most beautiful, touching and breathtaking song I have heard in a while.
And the discussions about the sexual orientation of the singer are annoying and senseless! It’s the voice that counts and that is awesome.
Here you go, including my own translation of it.

“Jesse Kaikuranta – Take Me Home

Come to buy me,
I am for sale.
Lots of good love
broken inside a pocket.
You get it for free.

Come to get me,
I am ready.
Memories in plastic bags,
the heart in a suitcase.
Ready to change.
Take me home.

Take me home again,
put my head and heart in their places.
Touch me in a way that will keep me from forgetting
who is the one that owns me.
Take me home.

For what price do you get me to your side?
I don’t ask for a lot.
I ask for a piece of heaven
and a few kisses.

I don’t give any guarantees, now just take the risk.
Love might hurt.
Remember, you aren’t allowed to change it
when it begins to cause remorse.
Take me home.

Take me home again,
put my head and heart in their places.
Touch me in a way that will keep me from forgetting
who is the one that owns me.

And I will do my best and more,
so you will never be disappointed,
I swear.
You fixed me again.

Take me home again,
put my head and heart in their places.
Touch me in a way that will keep me from forgetting
who is the one that owns me,
who is the one that owns me.
Take me home.”

Yay-day!

Yeah, I kinda liked this day, even though I felt physically and mentally even worse than in the past few days…
But still I went to school this morning, English, senseless as always.
As a matter of fact it was the first time in I don’t know how many weeks, that I have been on all 4 mornings that I have school actually IN school at 8.30! 4 daysof getting up at 7. In a row. That’s a record. For sure!
But it is over now…
Yesterday our Project Management course ended. On Wednesday was already the last Marketing class and on Tuesday last Communication Skills. Meaning: from now on I have only Friday mornings school – for the next 3 weeks that there are.
Did I by the way mention I might take a Japanese course next semester? Maybe. Maybe I redecide after I have been there. ;PPP
Anyways, 6-day weekends from now.
And in 18 days I am already leaving to Japan. Insane.

Today I checked out Mikontalo’s sauna for the first time. We planned a get together with some girls, in the end there were 3 showing up, but Karolina had to leave earlier and Saija came a bit later, so Anniina and me were the only one’s in the sauna. But it is actually really good and reaaally warm for an electric sauna. I was impressed and I am sure I will book more shifts from now on. So easy if you just have to go there and it’s ready heated. ;D
Also otherwise it was very nice, we talked a lot and I somehow really feel better now. :) It might change soon, but who cares. It’s the moment that counts. :D

Now finally weekend and sleeping in. After 4 days of early wake up I actually for the first time really realize what a luxury that is. :D

Sleep well everyone!

Boo.

Free weekends suck. Just for the record.
I am always happy to have them, but then I always realize it again.
Of course it’s good to wake up without 500 things in mind that you still need to do, but then in the end sitting there having nothing to do is just so boooooring.

Thaat’s what happened on Friday, so I spontaneously went to the center with Antti and Harri.
We had no idea where to go, so we just randomly went to 1bar for a beer. Then I texted Brian, cause he told me he would be in the center, too. We didn’t quite get his reply, we thought he was in Dog’s Home, even though in fact he was in the bar next to it.
Anyways I haven’t been to Dog’s Home in over one year and it used to be my favourite bar in Tampere, so we went there. And they still do have the best White Russian in town.

We met Brian afterwards and spent the rest of the night in Ruma with Long Island Ice Tea. :D It was the first time since I got back from Germany, that I didn’t leave between 12 and 1 du to tireness. Maybe because we met at 12? Or because I took a 4 hour nap in the afternoon after school. xD That might be it.

Yesterday was again a whole lot of doing nothing and in the evening I met up with Aurelie to watch the new Twilight movie. Yeah, laugh at me.
Actually it was suprisingly good, if not the best so far in my opinion. Probably that is because I didn’t read the 4th book at all, so I didn’t have any expectations. Or if so, then only quite low.
I am far enough that I manage to ignore that Robert Pattinson is just way too ugly to be the beautiful vampire Edward is described as in the book. I also manage to ignore that Kristen Steward is a horrible actress in my eyes and something is apparently seriously wrong with her mouth as she always runs around with this “D=”-expression. Even on her wedding.
But yeah, everyone how they like it.
Still I don’t get how they can choose Mackenzie Foy as their daughter for the next part… this girl is just incredible cute and pretty and her movie parents simply just aren’t. At all. :D
Anyways, as long as there is a loooooooot of Carlisle and Jake I am fine. :D I am actually fine with everyone except Pattinson and Steward.
Carlisle and Jake in the same scene… roar… torture, sweet torture.
Why couldn’t they choose a Carlisle-like actor for Edward, too? Would fit so much better. :D

Sooo, one more day of boredom ahead tomorrow. *sigh*
I have not the slightest clue what to do with it.

Oh and my flatmate has guests for the whole week. It’s 5 in total, 2 of them staying with us.
They better be quiet next week when I have school in the morning, or there might be some dead Italians. I have enough sleeping problems already.

Motivation!

I don’t exactly know where it is coming from, but it is here. :D
Or I’m just SO damn bored, that being unmotivated would make me even more bored…

Actually the day seemed to be a horrible one in the morning, as I once again didn’t manage to sleep more than 2 hours. x.x
Instead of normal school we had a company visit at IKEA.
We were worried about it, as they were apparently not too happy to have us over, but it turned out to be different. The two ladies who had the presentation were really nice and open and we even got free candy and buttons. :D
Luckily the afternoon class with Pirkko was cancelled, so of course – as we were already there – we used the time for some shopping.
I was walking around with Maja and later we met Anniina and Aurelie, too.
And it went as it always does in IKEA: you don’t need anything, but you will end up buying something. :D
I bought some deco stuff, awesome apple-cinnamon candles, two glass bowls and two little thingies which I thought are perfect for putting soy sauce in when having sushi or something. I was actually missing something like that.
And I bought some glasses with stars on them. I don’t know if they are supposed to be candle glasses or drink glasses, but I figured you can use them for both. :D
Here is a picture of my treasures:

After the shopping we had food at the IKEA restaurant: meatbaaaaalls. *.*

Back at home I was still motivated, so I did the stuff I had left to do for our Cross-cultural communication groupwork.

Then I figured that this motivation would probably not last forever and as I had planned on making an Advent wreath, like we used to have it when I was a child, I decided I could do that. Of course it is a bit early, but who knows if I would find motivation next year.
I found candles already some days ago at Lidl and now I bought some more deco and went to pick some fir branches.
I was attacked by several squirrels, but I survived. :D
Tiimari didn’t have wooden rings as we used for the basis of the wreath, so I improvised one from a 24 lonkero box. :D
I still remembered how to tie the wreath but it was still a bit more difficult, as the wire sucked and the Finnish twigs seem to be a lot spikier than the German ones. Ouch.
My next problem was how to fix the candles ON it, without the risk of them falling down. Daniela gave me the idea of using nails and it worked quite well.
Here the result:

Then I started to redecorate my shelf and my desk with the stuff I bought at IKEA.
The alcohol bottles which were on top of the shelf are a bit better hidden now and the top used for decoration.

And tadaaaa…

aaand…

Looks a lot better now. At least in my opinion.

So. Now it is 7.30 and I am still bored. And motivated…
So up next: English homework. Yes. English homework. Me.
It was quite easy. =P (Surprise, surprise.)

8.30. Still bored.
I wanted to clean the flat tomorrow as I have a laundry shift then and could wash my bed sheets also.
But I decided to clean the rest of the flat already today and leave only the bed for tomorrow.

I’m scary, am I not? xD

But yeah, I feel very proud of myself and that gets me in a better mood right away, too. :D

Haaaah. Still bored and motivated.
Maybe I’ll play some Facebook games. xD

Cheers.

10 months. 10 years? Eternity.

Morning meow…

Dear readers,

here used to be a blog entry.
wordpress decided to delete it.
Isn’t this a nice thing to do?
I am gonna kick their fucking asses!!

Russia and more…

So, now I finally make it. Time seems to fly when it comes to blog posts, but not in every other sense. That’s quite weird. I don’t like it.
Anyways, I have overcome my autumn depression, I guess. No, it wasn’t an autumn depression… it’s just… there’s a lot of stuff  going on in my mind at the moment and I really don’t know where to put it, how to handle it and who I can talk to about it. So sometimes it needs just little things and everything gets too much. That happened in the last 2 days. But now there’s again so much coming up, that I probably won’t have time for it, so all stupid worries and fears are put to exile to a very small corner of my mind. Maybe I’ll give them some vodka and they can have fun on their own.

I came back from St. Petersburg on Monday and I survived “the Russia” once more. And this time even better than before. :D I remember everything and I wasn’t really wasted even once. Proud of myself. ;D
At first I was kinda sad, because I was the only tutor going and I didn’t know many of the exchange students at that point. But still it turned out to be a blast. I made lots of new friends and we really had a great time, even though it was really different from last time.
I was disappointed by the Russian dinner this time, but then there was the canal cruise instead and it was just super awesome. :)
Also the limousine tour was great again.

On Tuesday after school I went for some 2nd hand shopping with Alisa, mostly for her birthday and Halloween party, because we needed costumes.
Oh yeah. Very important at this point: I do know that Halloween was already on the 31st of October, I am not stupid, even though lots of people seem to think that.
Yes, I get bitchy about it.
Same shit last year, when we had our Halloween party a day before, because in Finland there happens to be a normal workday on the 1st, so 31st is a bad day for having parties. “But it isn’t Halloween yet!”
Now the same the other way around. Are you really thinking I am / we are stupid, or do you just need to annoy me?
Do me a favor and give me a break!
Thank you.
Back to topic…
I planned on being a vampire, even though after Twilight its just super embarrassing and cliché.
But while shopping with Alisa I got another idea. Still vampire, but without being super cliché “I dress gothic black, draw myself evil panda eyes and put blood all over my mouth”…. no…
Sarah from Dance of the Vampires it’s gonna be.
Too be more exact, Sarah after she was bitten an turned into a vampire. In case the teeth don’t stay where they are supposed to be only bitten and not yet turned. XDD

Today we had a company visit with the school which turned out to be a lot more interesting and informative than our lectures normally are. xD
After that we went for some coffee with Olli, Anniina, Aurelie, Jaana and Jari.
Aaaaaand in the evening there was again the improv show of JadaJada and it was again superfunny… I am a fan. xD

So yeah, actually it’s Thursday so it’s supposed to be weekend. But someone really hates us, so they decided to let us have English on Friday mornings this term. Seriously?
I mean, one good thing about it: there might be some blog posts coming up every Friday morning from now on. xDDD
Haaah, yeah… xD

Ohhhh, by the way, one very important thing! ihmepensas wrote this comment on my Dance of the Vampires review, in case you didn’t see, and added a link for more pictures!!! There you can also have a look at the very differen Koukol and the awesome dresses of the vampire ensemble – check it out: HERE!

Last but not least, I want to share a picture I took when we arrived with the boat to Helsinki on Monday morning. I am sure the beauty of this moment wasn’t possible to capture in a picture, but I tried my best and I was suprised about my camera. No after-photoshopping needed…

Ultimate Boredom…

It is also known as holidays.
We have them right now, one week, and I should be happy about it. But I am not. I mean, not that I would spend too much time at school when there are no holidays, but still. I am just sitting at home and have no idea what to do.
Well, I probably should clean, but then again that’s not the kind of activity I wanted to fight my boredom with. Maybe I’ll do it tomorrow. Maybe not.
On Thursday there’s at least a party going on, but that is again just one evening.

Anyways, I do have plans for Saturday. Today I finallyfinally bought tickets for Dance of the Vampires in Seinäjoki. Because I just can’t hear all the awesome stories from the German DotV derniere anymore and because I saw some trailers of the Finnish one now and it looks really promising.
Okay, what one could recognize after those trailers is that the Finnish make-up artists are definitely not as good as the German ones. Especially when it comes to Krolock, who is just undeniably the most important character. Jyri Lahtinen seems to have a good voice, but he also seems to wear like NO make up? Or just a little. Which is definitely not enough, if you are used to the Krolock make-up you get to see in Germany. Plus he has always that kinda “O.o” face from what I saw… hard to take him serious if he is always like that. But I will see and I’ll keep you informed. At least there is finally something to look forward to.

Last week was nothing special but Hämeenkadun Appro, which I told about already earlier. It was pretty cool. We went with Jaana, Harri, Marjut, Aleksi, Sanna, AK and one friend of hers. Oh, and Johan joined, for the pictures of course. Later we met Aurelie and Joonas, too.
We got in quite a hurry, because a) we were sitting too long in each of the bars and b) when we wanted to “just stop by for a shot” there was the typical appro-problem: huuuuge queues at the counter.
Anyways, after 7 bars and McDonald’s I finally got my cum laude patch. Next year’s goal: laudatur. 10 drinks needed for that. I will make it. xD
The afterparty at Senssi was rather lame. It was only me, Harri, Allie, Joonas and Marjut there and like…50 other people. The biggest party was at Areena and I guess people who had tickets for Senssi just went for the patches and then left home. The band “Blake” should play in Senssi, but at the doors we saw signs that they changed and it’s Matthau Mikojan now. At least that was something I know and kinda like.
But still it was strange to see a club THAT empty. Even Senssi is fuller normally. xD
Well, we had fun and that is the most important thing.

On Friday I met Sanna and Karolina for Tortillas, chocolate, lots of talking and a movie. We ended up watching Remember Me. I hate Robert Pattinson, but in that movie he is simply great, can’t deny that.
I just really love the movie. <3 It’s super sad but awesome. Worth watching.

So, yeah, I will let you know if I managed to clean my hole and how worth watching the Finnish Dance of the Vampires is. ;)
If you are curious (no matter if you understand Finnish or not) you can have a look on the trailer, here:

It’s time…

…to leave the country.
For finns.
Soon.

I saw the first snowflakes in the rain yesterday. Just for a short while, but still. Even that is way too much. Autumn has just began, winter can’t come yet!

On Thursday we went to see JadaJada’s show in O’Connell’s. It was awesome as last time.
Afterwards I went to Fat Lady with Joonas, Elli and Pasi for the overall party.
When Joonas, Anniina and me left O’Connell’s it was raining as hell and Joonas and me were completely wet when we reached Fat Lady.
But it was still nice, after we dried.
Especially to see Elli again after such a long time.
Later also Antti came… it was pretty cool.

Yesterday I didn’t do anything except trying to get rid of my hangover. XD Which basically took all day. Thank god I was fine again in the evening to go to Aurelie’s place for karaoke. :D We had a lot of fun there, as always. ;D

Oh, and I found out why everyone is so hyped about Chai Latte.
The reason is simple: it is fucking GOOOOOOD. xD
I want more. Actually I am gonna make another cup in a second. ;D
I don’t plan on moving anymore for the whole weekend anyways. xD

Autumn Sun

Sometimes it seems to help to complain.
Yesterday I was annoyed about the weather, because it was rainy, way too cold, windy and simply disgusting. All Finland fans in Germany would love that, of course. But in fact, 90% of the Finns and people who live here for longer than 6-12 months simply want to run away.
Today it was at least sunny, so it didn’t feel that cold, even tho it actually was. :D

I went for a trip to the other side today. Or better – to TTY, the technical university, which is here in Hervanta.
The reason was simple: they still sold tickets for the overall party tomorrow, which were already sold out in our school. :D Of course we could have gone there without tickets, it’s only 2 Euros more at the door and last time at that kind of party there wasn’t a big queue when it wasn’t that late yet.
The thing is that with the presale ticket we will get a patch for the overall, which we don’t get if we buy the ticket at the door. :D
But yeah, thank god for TTY, now we have tickets.
I might need some party for a change. :D ;D

Plus there is JadaJada’s show again tomorrow. An american friend of mine has this impro-comedy group. They had a show already last month and it was totally awesome.
So if you happen to live in Tampere:
Tomorrow, 8pm,
Irish Bar O’Connells!!
:D It is definitely worth a visit! I haven’t laughed so hard ever before. :D

Then on Friday we have a Karaoke party with our class. I hope there are a lot of people coming, also those who left the class. :D

So, the weekend will be full of parteeeey! :D

Yeah, and I wasn’t completely lazy today.
I actually went to the gym for one whole hour today!
Probably my whole body is hurting tomorrow, but it was worth it. xD
